What I'd Cook for My Teacher
Rattlesnake stew
centipede salad
seaweed and jellyfish sandwich
milk mixed with glue
a-chooberry pie
frog cheese pate' ... my oh my!
By adding connecting words it can be turned into a rhyming poem
If I cooked hot lunch for my teacher
I would start out with rattlesnake stew
Then I'd serve her a centipede salad
And a tall glass of milk mixed with glue
Next, seaweeed and jellyfish sandwich
For dessert, an a-chooberry pie.
When my teacher finds out what she's eaten,
I hope she won't start to cry!
Writing A Scottish Fairytale for Juniors
1. Orientation and engagement
The writer’s sense of their readers: the capacity to orient and engage readers through the considered use of information, text structure, and language features.
Look for evidence that suggests:
the writer is aware that the reader has a practical need for: clear expression, enough information, and a text structure and language features appropriate to the purpose and audience.
I love you, Dad, and want you to know,
I feel your love wherever I go.
Whenever I've problems, you're there to assist,
The ways you have helped me would make quite a list.
Your wisdom and knowledge have shown me the way,
And I'm thankful for you as I live day by day.
I don't tell you enough how important you are,
In my universe you're a bright shining star.
- Karl Fuchs
A Father is neither an anchor to hold us back nor a sail to take us there, but always a guiding light whose love shows us the way. The warm light of your love shines in my memories and in my heart reminding me of your guidance your care, and most of all, your love

Punctuation
Do you use a dash a lot? What about a hyphen? Many people can't tell the difference between them. Some people even think they are the same thing. If you are one of them, check this out and master the dash. Here are some examples of a dash being used correctly:
I'd better have passed my test—it's ninety percent of my class grade—or I'll have to go to summer school.
Well, I passed the test—granted, I cheated—but I passed!
Abby gave me a terrible haircut—and she expected a tip!
Exposition Writing ... writing to persuade others.
When you are persuading people, you usually use a different style. You don't need to show both sides - all you have to do is present your ideas. For instance, imagine you had to persuade people to buy a certain toothpaste. You could write about the great taste, or how clean your teeth feel or how white they are. It doesn't really matter what you find to write about as long as you get them to buy it.
